Since losing Chase on January 30, 2020, we have experienced generosity in so many forms, it takes our breath away. The only words we have to express our deep gratitude are thank you. We truly appreciate everyone who has supported the Chase Bjork Foundation over the past year.
Unite With Light, an annual event created by the Labadini family to raise funds for children’s charities, selected the Chase Bjork Foundation as the beneficiary of this year’s event, and poignantly held the event on January 30, 2021, the first anniversary of Chase’s passing. The Labadinis, along with Lizzie Lewis, organized an amazing team of families and developed a COVID-safe process for assembling and distributing luminaries to be displayed at property lines and around town as a way to display the power of light to transcend darkness.
Numerous communities came together, purchasing luminaries as a way to donate to the Chase Bjork Foundation, to support our mission of raising awareness and educating adolescents and their families before they face a mental health crisis. While we have felt the compassion and kindness of our extended community over the past year, nothing could have prepared us for the beauty of uplifting light we saw on the Common, or the seemingly endless lines of luminaries throughout neighborhoods around town.
We wish there were more words that could capture our deep, heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported Unite With Light this year. To all of you, we say thank you.
Special thank you to families that helped organize the event and make it a success.
